Do you have a GPS? If you do, you may be interesed in GeoCaching. GeoCaching is using your GPS to find Caches that have been hidden thoughout the world. There are even several of them hidden in the Grouse Creek area.

To find those hidden in the Grouse Creek area, go to www.geocaching.com and enter 84313 as the ZIP Code. You will find caches at Red Butte, Cotton Thomas Basin, Keg Springs Pass, Dove Creek Pass, and Owl Springs to name a few.

Good luck finding them.

There are some interesting benchmarks in Grouse Creek as well. A benchmark is placed by National Geodetic Survey. The marker is often a metal disk. You can search for these at geocaching.com as well.

Here is a link

If you haven't seen a Survey Marker before, here is a picture of one. Do you know where this one is?

I don't know where that is. Do you have the coordinates?

I don't think I took the coordinates but it is right by the locked gate that goes into Section 36. Section 36 is the BLM section just south of all the pine trees.

Here is where it is at using topozone.
