If you didn't already know, Chukar Partridges are quickly becoming the Upland Game Bird of choice for serious bird hunters. Utah's terrain and habitat is ideal for these hardy birds. The hunting season for Chukars started this past weekend and goes until the end of January and you can take 5 birds each day with a 10 bird bag limit. This past summer 13 new small game guzzlers were installed in Western Box Elder county. There are now close to 25 scattered around the southern mountains of Grouse Creek and the Hogups mountains. This past weekend, 500 pen raised chukars were released at numerous locations to suppliment the wild bird population.
