I am always curious as to who visits my web site. Please introduce yourself and give a brief description of your interest in Grouse Creek.

I really hope you know who I am. For the rest of you, I'm Aimee. My grandparents are from Grouse Creek so I've been visiting ever since I can remember. I'm a Kimber so I also have deep ties to Grouse Creek that way.

Alan:

I just want to tell you what a wonderful job that you do with this website. My grandparents were the late Frank and Orita Lee who in the 1950's-1960's were custodians of the Church House and School. Their house was next to the Church and accross the way from the school. Both grandparents are buried in the Grouse Creek cemetary. My mother is Irene Lee Holjeson who was born and raised in Grouse Creek and I am related to the Kimber lineage. Some of the fondest memories of my childhood (living in Ogden, Utah) were visiting my grandparents and spending summers in Grouse Creek, smelling the clean air, burning cedar logs in the oven, sagebrush and yes, even the cows. Now that I am older, I often find myself yearning for those simpler times and sharing time with my grandparents. Ayway, thanks for all that you do.

Who am I

I am Charles Kimber Jr.'s youngest. (He was the 21st child of Charles Kimber Jr. & Jose.) We own the home across the street from the rodeo grounds. My brother is Chuck Kimber (the one with the smart mouth). We come out about 8 times a year.

I married into this Grouse Creek world. My husband's grandparents were Robert and Beth Paskett. I accidently found out about this website (well done by the way) when I was investigating Home Medical Transcription and called a friend of a friend for advice. During the course of our conversation she mentioned "dropping everything to go to Grouse Creek for 2 weeks." And, as we all know, if you've heard of Grouse Creek, you're probably related. :D

I've enjoyed the family histories posted here and I keep coming back!

Alan...thanks. Can't say it enough.

I am Kade Kimber, grandson of Oren LeGrande and Opal Lee Miller Kimber. Grandpa was one of the 21, but I don't know where exactly he fell in number-wise. (I know he was towards the bottom, as it was just him and Aunt Elsie left after Uncle Winfred passed away.) My parents are Randy Kimber and Brenda Baxter.

I grew up in Grouse Creek until my parents' divorce in 1987 and then later lived there for fifth and sixth grade. Our house was the last house at the far end of town (north, I think--I'm navigationally challenged :D), just down the road from the gravel pit. I then lived in Brigham City until I graduated from Box Elder High School in 1999. I currently live in Raleigh, NC and will be attending law school next fall.

Even though I absolutely love living on the East coast and near the beach, I have to admit that I miss Grouse Creek something fierce and hope to get back there soon. Each time I fly to Utah, it's my goal to make it there. As it hasn't worked out yet, I was ready to fly back for a weekend last month just to make a trip out there. The area is beautiful, the people are the best in the world (they have to be--they're family :D), and I have a lot of good memories from there. I especially loved the 4th of July and the Kimber Family Reunion. Going to school in Grouse Creek was such a unique experience and I love telling people about it, as they don't believe me that a school could be that small or have homecooked meals for the school lunch. :D

As I can't seem to make it there in person, I pacify my longing by checking out this website regularly. Great job on it, Alan!!

Hi to everyone. If you do not know me I am Heather Warr Current resident of Grouse Creek. I have lived here for a little over 10 years. I have 2 boys 2 girls. My husband is Kelly Warr current brand inspector of Grouse Creek. I just had to write that to feel cool..... I think it is great to read how many people have ties to Grouse. It sure has become home to our family. We live in Kathleen and Doug Tanners old house or if you want to go older than that it was Max tanners old house before theres. My husbands family bought the Max Tanners ranch and the Thomas ranch and combined them. Lets see... I started an internet company out here in Grouse Creek selling western apparel and footwear. It is going very well. I am on the Communitee council. I will be submitting updates on current Grouse Creek Functions to the forum. We love company so everyone feel free to come on out! By the way I am not a good speller so exuse the spelling. Well have to get back to work this has been fun!

I'm sorry my little sister is so confused about herself. Barbara and I are really the children of Charles Junior Kimber, not Charles Kimber Jr. Also, our dad is the youngest child of Charles Kimber Jr. and Josephine, not Caroline.

Sis, you need to come over for a genealogy lesson. :D

Hi Dorie,

You might want to call Barbara Kimber Davies 801-280-2696, and see if you can set up a time to meet her in G.C. She and her husband Doug Davies now own your grandparents old home, and I am sure she would be delighted to give you a tour. They have done a lot of work on the home over the past couple of years, and it is really nice.

Who am I

Postby Shairston on Wed Oct 03, 2007 8:02 am

I would like to introduce myself. I have direct ties to Grouse Creek. My grandparents were Ted and Martha Kimber. I am Norm Kimber and Gerry Durfee's oldest daughter Sharon. Our family has been away from Grouse Creek for several years. My parents divorced when I was 5, however after I married in 1976 I was blessed to be able to live in Grouse Creek. My husband and I lived up the road from Dad and Fern for just over a year and I was able to get to know my Dad a little more and loved the experience of living in a small community. I currently live in Pollock Pines CA, just down the road from my little brother Rick. We have discussed several times of trying to make the Kimber reunion and are working to make that happen. Thanks Alan for providing the outlet to introduce myself.

My name is Tyler Lee Kimber,
I have alot of ties to grouse past and present. My grand parents were both born in the valley of Grouse Creek (Myron & Leverne Kimber) grandma was a Lee thats where I got my middle name. Every summer from when I was 13 till I was 18 i would live mith my aunt and uncle (The Evans Family) and even though the days were long and hard, of what seemed like endless work Im gratefull! it taught me alot about my self (and with out a doubt the value of a dollar) I have alot of fond memory's of this one of kind hidden valley we all now of as Grouse Creek.

p.s. although Im sure not alot of you locals dont remember me I remember alot of you...... (great job Al!!!)
