As I'm constantly running into large herds of the Sage Grouse... and it's the day before Thanksgiving... I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on re-introducing Wild Turkey's into the Grouse Creek area ?

Thoughts ?

Would they compete with the Sage Grouse... would they survive ? Would the ranchers in Grouse Creek support something like this ?

About 10 years ago they released wild turkeys in the Red Butte area. The school kids participated and feed them through the first winter. There were sightings of them for several years but they eventually didn't survive. I suspect there are just too many predators for them.

i wouldn't be so sure that none survived cause last year i seen two hens right at the lynn turnoff. same year i got the photo of the moose and flushed a ruff grouse out of the sagebrush so go figure.
